How much time should your child spend on homework every day? According to veteran educators, the figures are as follows: 10 minutes for a first-grader, 30 minutes for a third-grader, and 70 minutes for a seventh-grader. Ideally, the rate for assigning homework is 10 minutes every night for first-graders, and an additional 10 minutes per succeeding grade. Note, however, that these are only guidelines, and teachers actually assign homework differently. If your child is having trouble finishing his homework, consider using homework help sites to help you and your child out.
